Job Description

Summary:

The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the storage, handling, and distribution of hardware materials, tools, and equipment. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper storage conditions, and timely issuance of goods to support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify hardware items (e.g., tools, fittings, fasteners, building materials) against delivery orders
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of items for easy identification and retrieval
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movements in the system
  • Monitor stock levels and report low stock or discrepancies
  • Pick, pack, and issue items according to sales orders or internal requests
  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist in stock audits
  • Handle returns, damaged goods, and discrepancies with suppliers
  • Ensure the store/warehouse is clean, safe, and compliant with safety regulations
  • Coordinate with sales and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

  • 1-2 year experience as a storekeeper, preferably in a hardware, construction, or industrial supply environment
  • Familiarity with hardware items and tools is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Physically fit and able to handle heavy items when required
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Excel)
