Job description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Storage and Backup Engineerto manage and maintain enterprise-level storage and backup infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise inHitachi storage systems,SAN switches,Veritas NetBackup,Veeam Backup & Replication, andHuawei backup solutions. This role involves day-to-day operational management, compliance and audit support, and participation in strategic projects.
- Administer and maintainHitachi storage systems,SAN switch infrastructure, andHuawei backup environments.
- Manage and monitorVeritas NetBackupandVeeam Backup & Replicationplatforms.
- Perform routine health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Ensure data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place and effective.
- Handle incidents, service requests, and change management related to storage and backup.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support internal and externalaudit and complianceactivities.
- Participate in planning and execution ofstorage and backup-related projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage and backup administration.
- Strong expertise inHitachi storage systems,SAN switch management, andHuawei backup solutions.
- Proficient inVeritas NetBackupandVeeam Backup & Replication.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and data protection best practices.
- Experience with compliance frameworks and audit processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Hitachi Certified Specialist, Veritas Certified Specialist, Veeam VMCE, Huawei Certified ICT Expert).
- Experience in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Ansible, Shell Script).
- Familiarity with cloud storage and backup solutions.
