Job Overview
A Steamboat Junior Chef assists in preparing ingredients, soup bases, and kitchen operations for steamboat (hotpot) service.
The role ensures food is prepared fresh, hygienically, and according to the restaurant's standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare steamboat ingredients such as meats, seafood, vegetables, tofu, and noodles
Assist in preparing and cooking soup bases according to recipes
Cut, slice, and portion ingredients for daily service
Ensure freshness and proper storage of food ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
Monitor ingredient stock and report low inventory
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (NEA guidelines)
Help with plating and presentation of food items for
customers
Support kitchen team during busy service hours
Requirements
Basic cooking or kitchen experience preferred
Willing to learn and follow instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
Responsible, hardworking, and punctual
Preferred Skills
Experience in hotpot / steamboat restaurants
Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene
Basic knife skills for cutting meats and vegetables
Working Conditions
Full-time position
Shift work including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Salary $2,600
