RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Fellow will work on all three of STARI's streams of work: 1) research 2) training and 3) networks. This would include, but is not limited to conducting tax law research and publishing in leading journals, helping with the Research Affiliate Programme and Academic Writing Workshops, and assisting with the organization of STARI conferences and seminars.
- The Fellow must conduct research with a well-defined research agenda during the term of the appointment, with an aim of securing a faculty position at a reputable Law School. It is expected that the Fellow will publish research papers in reputable refereed journals during his or her term of the appointment and give at least one STARI Seminar at SMU during his/her employment term.
- The Fellow will be expected to be collegial and assist in the administration work of STARI which includes the organisation and running of seminars and conferences or other events for STARI and the writing of reports and position papers. Administrative work may form up to 30% of the Fellow's portfolio. Candidates who do not wish to do administrative work should not consider applying for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS- A doctorate degree in law from a reputable university.
- The candidate should possess research experience in international tax law with a demonstrated record of research output in the form of refereed journal articles or conference papers.
- The applicant must be of exceptional calibre, having attained a doctoral degree in law, which must have been successfully completed and examined during the period of 1 January 2023 to present.
- Candidates who have completed and submitted their dissertation may also be considered.
OTHER INFORMATION- The Fellow must be in residence at SMU throughout the term of his or her appointment.
