Student Training & RotationProgram (STAR Program):

STAR Program is the essential talent development program to build up an early talent pipeline for SAP. This work integrated learning program supports the people strategy of SAP and aligns with the early talent needs of organization across various board areas. The objective is to recruit, train, develop, and convert high-performing, self-motivated employees to FTE to fulfill immediate, mid-, and long-term strategic business objectives.

The program has strong impact globally and it started in SEA region in 2018 and currently has around 35 participants in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam each year. We need a STAR Trainer to help manage the program, deeply engage and develop the students, and build partnership both internally and externally.

To be successful in this role at a minimum you will need to demonstrate a passion for early talent, developing and mentoring people. You will have great attention to detail, proven experience in delivering programs as well as the agility to manage multiple priorities to be delivered across different timelines.

Experience & Educational Requirement:

  • 3-5+ years of work experience preferably running a business program or initiative
  • Excellent communication skills including business level English
  • University degree (Bachelor minimum)

Skills and Competencies:

The following tasks are performed within the below described level of accountability, complexity, experience, communication:

Accountability: Responsible for delivery outcomes of assigned sub projects work independently within given area of responsibility

Complexity: contributes to sub projects and activities with moderate level of complexity Decisions/solutions can essentially enhance existing systems & processes

Experience: Strong competence with various job-relevant tools & processes to accomplish the job

Communication: Builds collaborative work relationships across SAP Communicates clearly, in a way that others can understand with in defined processes & policies.

Empathy and empowerment: Show competencies of listening and empowerment. Be able to engage and enable young people.

Expectations/Tasks:

  • Recruiting: exploring hiring demand, University connections to support with campus recruiting, partnering with Talent Discovery to review application documents, interviewing applicants, facilitate recruitment assessment centers and support the business in making hiring decisions.
  • On-boarding of STAR students
  • Engage, support and development of STAR program students: leadership, performance management, support rotation, support with hiring conversion processes, administration, coaching
  • Training: assessing training needs and either carrying out business and / or soft skill trainings or sourcing suitable training
  • Project management: carrying out STAR projects:
    - contributes and works on projects/sub-projects and activities with moderate level of complexity
    - work is independent & collaborative in nature.
    - Provides regular updates to manager or project manager on project status
    - Decisions/solutions can essentially enhance existing systems & processes
  • Excellent stakeholder management: able to establish effective working relationships with people at all levels
