What you'll get to do
- You'll play a key role within your cross functional team, taking responsibility for your services and the technology within them.
- You'll get to work as the Staff Software Engineer in your squad, leading on discussions around technical direction and systems design, as well as mentoring more junior members of the team
Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered prototypes and production-grade applications using GenAI APIs
- Build backend services, microservices, and cloud functions for intelligent workflows
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop user-facing solutions using Flutter or React
- Integrate observability and monitoring into GenAI services
- Automate tasks and pipelines using scripting (Python, Shell)
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, design thinking sprints, and rapid MVP delivery
- This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- 6+ years in software development with interest or experience in GenAI tools
- Proficient in Python and at least one other modern language (JavaScript, Dart, Java, etc.)
- Experience working with GenAI APIs (OpenAI, Claude etc.)
- Exposure to front-end or mobile development (Flutter, React, or similar)
- Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and cloud environments (preferably AWS)
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI agent frameworks or vector databases.
- Passion for user-centric innovation and creative problem solving.
- Willingness to work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with autonomy.
