Staff Nurse - WCAN

Responsibilities for Staff Nurse [Psychiatric Ward]:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patients clinical needs, medical instructions, and hospital policies.
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centred mental health nursing care.
• Provide health education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and promptly communicate patients condition, treatment, and progress to the Nurse Manager, Senior Nurse Manager, and attending doctor.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive care environment.
• Guide and support junior nursing staff and newly joined nurses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Staff Nurse [Psychiatric Ward]:

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing with a valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) licence.
• Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health) is an advantage.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital, particularly in a psychiatric or mental health setting, is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage patients empathetically.
• Able to remain calm and professional in a dynamic clinical environment.
• Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to patient care.
• Passionate about developing a career in mental health nursing.
• Able to work rotating 3-shift schedules.
