Job Summary
The Staff Nurse delivers effective nursing management, care, and counselling to patients undergoing assisted reproductive treatments. This role involves assisting in clinical procedures, supporting surgeries, managing medical tasks, and ensuring empathetic patient experiences in a fertility treatment setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during fertility treatment procedures in the operating theatre to ensure procedural efficiency and patient safety
- Support medical practitioners by performing ultrasound scanning, artificial insemination, and other relevant medical procedures accurately
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care across all assigned duties to meet patient health and treatment needs
- Provide circulating assistance to the scrub team during operations to maintain smooth workflow and patient safety
- Perform scrub duties independently with minimal supervision, maintaining strict sterile conditions
- Organize and maintain surgical inventory listings and surgical trolley orderliness to enable quick instrument access during procedures
- Conduct financial counselling by clearly explaining treatment costs and plans to patients for informed decision-making
- Manage medical records and medications accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards
- Perform venipuncture for blood draws following treatment protocols with precision and care
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clinics regarding patient cases to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Assist in stock-taking and procurement of medical supplies and equipment to maintain adequate inventory levels
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in Nursing
- Valid registration as a Singapore Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant nursing experience in operating theatres (O&G) or IVF settings is highly desirable
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an advantage
