Staff Nurse (LASIK / Refractive-Trained)

Job Description

We are seeking a competent and patient-focused Staff Nurse (LASIK / Refractive-Trained) to support our ophthalmology and refractive surgery services. The incumbent will provide peri-operative nursing care, assist in refractive procedures, and ensure compliance with regulatory and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Ophthalmologists in LASIK and other refractive surgical procedures

Prepare and maintain operating theatre / laser suite for procedures

Perform pre-operative assessment and post-operative nursing care

Monitor patients vital signs and recovery status

Provide patient education on post-surgical care and medication compliance

Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation

Maintain strict infection control standards in accordance with MOH guidelines

Manage consumables and inventory related to refractive procedures

Participate in quality improvement and audit activities

Requirements

Registered Nurse with valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) registration

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience

Experience in ophthalmology / LASIK / refractive procedures preferred

OT / Day Surgery Centre experience is an advantage

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
