Job Title: L2 Wintel Support Engineer Azure AWS Platform

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly capable Level 2 Wintel Support Engineer with strong Azure administration experience and exposure to AWS cloud platforms. The candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on Wintel experience and at least 23 years of Azure cloud experience, preferably in regulated or secure environments (e.g., Government Commercial Cloud GCC).
The role primarily focuses on supporting Windows workloads on Azure, managing Azure infrastructure services, and maintaining hybrid connectivity with on-premises environments. Secondary responsibilities include supporting AWS workloads. The candidate should also have exposure to security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Infrastructure (Primary Responsibility)
- Provide L2 operational support for Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Machines, networking, and storage services.
- Manage and support Azure Virtual Machines (Windows/Linux) including provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Manage Azure Virtual Network (VNet), Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSG), Route Tables, and Private Endpoints.
- Support Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID integration, identity management, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Manage and troubleshoot Azure VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute connectivity, and hybrid network integration with on-premises environments.
- Configure and monitor Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Alerts for system health and performance monitoring.
- Manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery for VM backup and disaster recovery.
- Support Azure Storage services (Blob, Files, Managed Disks) and access control.
- Perform Azure patch management and update management using Azure Update Manager / Automation.
- Assist in implementing Azure security best practices, Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations, and CIS benchmarks.
- Troubleshoot VM connectivity issues, DNS resolution, and authentication issues in hybrid environments.
- Support infrastructure deployment automation using ARM templates, PowerShell, or Terraform where applicable.
Wintel Platform Support
- Provide L2 operational support for Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022 in both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Manage and support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, WSUS, and Windows clustering.
- Resolve incidents and service requests related to Wintel systems via ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).
- Perform patch management and coordinate monthly/quarterly patch cycles using WSUS/SCCM/Azure Update Manager/AWS Systems Manager.
AWS Support (Secondary Responsibility)
- Support AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, CloudWatch, and Systems Manager (SSM).
- Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting AWS workloads hosted in EC2 environments.
- Implement and review IAM permissions using IAM Access Analyzer and least privilege model.
Security Compliance
- Execute and remediate findings from CIS Hardening baselines and compliance scans.
- Carry out Vulnerability Management System (VMS) remediation and Cloudscape recommendations in collaboration with InfoSec teams.
- Work with Trend Micro Vision One or similar EDR/XDR platforms for threat detection and remediation.
- Support security reviews and vulnerability remediation across Azure and AWS workloads.
Automation Operations
- Assist in automation scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and AWS CLI.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in audits, patch windows, and disaster recovery testing.
- Provide on-call support and participate in 24x7 shift rotations when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of hands-on Wintel administration and support experience.
- 23 years of Azure cloud administration experience supporting Windows workloads.
- Good understanding of Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, NSG, Azure Storage, and Azure monitoring tools.
- Experience with identity management (RBAC, Azure AD), security groups, and cloud networking.
- Exposure to security and hardening frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, SCAP).
- Familiarity with tools such as Trend Micro Vision One, Qualys/Tenable, Azure Security Center / Defender for Cloud, AWS Config.
- PowerShell scripting proficiency for routine tasks and automation.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies in Azure environments.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and experience using ticketing systems.
