An exciting opportunity is available for a Sports Director to join Hollandse Club, one of Singapore's leading sport & social clubs with a vibrant, diverse and highly engaged sporting community. This is a full-time role suited to a highly organised, energetic and people-oriented professional who is passionate about sport and enjoys bringing communities together through well-run programs, events and experiences.

About the Role

The Sports Director supports the strategic development, performance management and governance of the Club's sports and wellness offering. The role ensures sports programmes, facilities and events drive member engagement and contribute meaningfully to the Club's financial and community objectives. The Sports Director plays a critical role in positioning sport as a strategic, community-driving pillar of the Club, balancing member experience with sustainable financial performance. This role may be a Sports Director or Sports Manager role, the eventual role title, designation (Director or Manager) and reward will be determined based on the seniority, experience and overall profile of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sports Strategy

·      Define and deliver the Club's sports and wellness strategy as part of the overall Club strategy

·      Lead the optimisation of sports and recreational facilities to maximise utilisation, yield and member value

·      Work in close partnership with the Assistant General Manager (AGM) on CAPEX planning, business cases and delivery of sports-related infrastructure projects

·      Ensure facilities, programmes and scheduling support strategic growth, participation targets and commercial outcomes

2. Programme Leadership & Performance Oversight

·      Set strategic direction for sports and wellness programmes across all disciplines

·      Build strategic alliances and collaborations beyond the Club environment to complement and extend the Club's sports offering

·      Oversee and expand sports programmes delivered through partners, including CCAs, academies and camps

·      Approve programme structures, calendars and major sporting events

·      Oversee consistency, quality and operational performance of programme delivery

·      Monitor participation, utilisation, member satisfaction and service levels, taking corrective action where required

·      Engage individual members and sports committees to help implement specific sports agendas

·      Drive the crossover and collaboration between different sports and integrate wellness into this

3. Sports Events

·      Oversee the planning and delivery of all major sports club events, tournaments and competitions

·      Work closely with Food & Beverage to integrate sports events with hospitality offerings to maximise overall event P&L performance

·      Ensure event formats, pricing and schedules are designed to drive participation, spend and member satisfaction

·      Position sports events as key community-building and revenue-generating platform for the Club

4. Commercial Development, Corporate Programmes & Sponsorship

·      Develop corporate sports programmes and team-building offerings in collaboration with the Assistant General Manager

·      Expand utilisation of sports facilities through corporate, private and partner-led activities

·      Build, manage and grow a sponsorship pool, including for tournaments, leagues and major sports initiatives

·      Identify and secure commercial partnerships that enhance event quality, brand positioning and financial return

·      Oversee the development and commercial performance of the Pro Shop, including merchandising and sport partnerships

·      Ensure sponsorship and partnership agreements align with Club values and governance standards

5. Leadership, People & Structure

·      Provide strategic leadership and direction to the sports function

·      Directly manage: Sports Coordinator

·      Operate within a matrix structure with Head Coaches (Tennis & Padel), providing strategic oversight while line management remains with the General Manager

·      Ensure effective resourcing, onboarding and utilisation of coaches and external instructors

·      Support a culture of accountability, service excellence and collaboration across all sports roles

6. Governance, Risk & Compliance

·      Ensure sports operations comply with Club policies, safeguarding, child-protection and safety requirements

·      Maintain oversight of registrations, attendance tracking, reporting and administrative processes

7. Financial & Operational Accountability

·      Hold accountability for sports-related operating budgets and commercial performance

·      Oversee budget tracking, cost control, invoicing and financial reporting across sports programmes and events

·      Identify financial risks and opportunities, taking action to optimise revenue and margin

·      Ensure transparent reporting on participation, utilisation and financial outcomes

Reporting & Relationships

·      Reports to: General Manager

·      Works closely with:

o  Assistant General Manager (CAPEX, corporate programmes, partnerships)

o  Food & Beverage Director (event integration)

o  Head Coaches (matrix)

·      Direct report: Sports Coordinator

About You

You will bring:

·      Proven experience in sports management, community management, events, hospitality, or a related field

·      A genuine enthusiasm for sport and active lifestyles (essential)

·      Excellent organisational, coordination and communication skills

·      Confidence engaging with members, coaches and internal & external stakeholders

Preferred:

·      Coaching certification in any sport

·      Background as a sports professional or instructor

·      Interest in delivering sports lessons or programs, where appropriate

Salary Range:

$6,000 - $10,000 per month (depending on experience and role scope & responsibilities)
