Grace Orchard School caters to students who have been diagnosed with Mild Intellectual Disability (MID) and those with Mild Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The school is specifically for students ranging from 7-18 years old who have Intellectual Quotient (IQ) which falls within the range of 50-70. The school is a non- profit organisation under Presbyterian Community Social Services (PCS).
Job Description:
- Plan and carry out lessons to nurture and stimulate the development of students with special needs
- Monitor and maintain the discipline in the classes
- Provide a safe and stimulating educational environment to ensure the well-being of students
- Communicate with parents / caregivers so as to provide pastoral care and counselling helps to students
- Plan and conduct CCAs and enrichment activities as assigned
- Contribute to the assigned committee(s) in an active and constructive manner
Requirements:
- Recognised University Degree / Diploma / DISE
- Excellent command of the English language
- Passion and commitment in guiding children to excel
- Boldness to meet challenges in a dynamic environment
- Good team player quality with personal initiative
- Strong work ethics and pleasant disposition
- Relevant experience in teaching students with autism will be an advantage
