About the role
As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This is a full-time role based in the Bukit Merah Central Region. You will play a key role in maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence. We run the brands under Enjoy Eating House and Bar.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation and presentation
- Oversee the work of the kitchen team, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest quality
- Maintain kitchen organisation and cleanliness to comply with health and safety regulations
- Monitor food stock levels and liaise with suppliers to ensure consistent availability of ingredients
- Train and develop junior kitchen staff, sharing your expertise and culinary knowledge
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service
What we're looking for
- Minimum 3 years experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Ability to use the wok is a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu design and cost control. With good knowledge on local Singaporean cuisine.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide leadership when required
