Job Description:
Role Summary
This is a senior-level technical position that demands a rare blend of deep, hands-on technical expertise and sharp strategic business acumen. The individual will serve as:
- The technical advisor for two of Broadcom's most strategic portfolios: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and the Application Networking & Security (ANS).
- The business advisor for guiding partners (resellers, distributors and services partners) who are establishing and expanding their services practices around VCF and ANS.
The overarching mission is to substantially accelerate the sales velocity and drive the adoption and consumption of VCF and ANS with commercial customers via partner-led services in APAC. This mandate is executed through three integrated and core areas of responsibility listed below.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading with Technical Expertise
- Thought Leadership: Serve as the principal technical authority and strategic advisor for VCF and ANS technologies. Leverage this expertise to drive technical and strategic discussions by providing forward-thinking technical insights and architectural vision to the Commercial and Partner teams.
- Technical Advisory: Advise and lead complex, high-stakes technical engagements, including architecture workshops and product roadmap discussions. The goal is to establish VCF as the essential, unified cloud platform that underpins and accelerates the customer's enterprise-wide digital transformation and modernization initiatives.
- Deep Domain Expertise: Provide and maintain expertise across the most advanced components of the VCF stack. This includes proficiency in sophisticated areas such as:
- Networking & Security: Expertise in VCF Networking (NSX) and the ANS portfolio (vDefend & Avi Load Balancer).
- Modern Applications: Proficiency with vSphere Kubernetes Services to support customer needs for containerization and cloud-native development.
- Emerging Technologies: A solid understanding of integrating Private AI capabilities on VCF, positioning the platform as the optimal infrastructure for GenAI workloads.
- Developing & Enabling Partner Services
- Consulting Practice Development: Guide and expedite the growth of partners consulting services practices (focusing on architecture and implementation) pertaining to the VCF and ANS portfolios. This is essential for establishing a reliable and scalable delivery capability for VCF and ANS within the Commercial segment.
- Technical Enablement: Formulate and implement a comprehensive technical enablement strategy and plan, working in conjunction with the VCF Enablement and Partner Program teams.
- Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Collaborate with Partner Business Managers (PBMs) and Services Managers to strategically promote, define, and expand the portfolio of partner-led VCF & ANS services tailored for the Commercial segment.
- Driving Adoption & Consumption
- Account Strategy and Services Entitlement: Collaborate with the Account Directors and partners to promote the adoption of VCF and ANS through services entitlement. The objective is to initiate the customer's transition to VCF 9.0, positioning it as the essential cloud foundation for our Commercial customers
- Executive Client Engagement: Communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives (CIO, CTO, CFO), translating technical value into clear business outcomes and ROI for VCF and ANS adoption.
- Partner-led Services: Drive customer usage and implementation of VCF & ANS through services delivered by partners.. The successful scaling of partner services is paramount to the long-term success and adoption of the VCF platform with ANS.
This role transcends a traditional technical pre-sales function. It is instrumental in accelerating the Commercial partner ecosystem's ability to deliver high-quality services and requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen to definitively position VCF platform with ANS as the cloud platform for all next-generation technology transformation across the APAC Commercial segment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree.
- Certifications in VMware technologies, cloud-native, public cloud and networking technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Red Hat OpenShift, CCIE etc.) are highly desirable.
Experience
- Experience in consulting/technical sales for cloud/app platforms.
- Deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, networking, security, and containers.
- Proven success working with customers/partners to deliver technical solutions and drive platform adoption.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to engage technical and business leaders.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with sales teams and develop partners.
- Able to identify challenges, design solutions, and articulate business value.
- Enthusiastic, self-starting, curious, and thrives in dynamic environments.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
