This Test Engineer role is an opportunity to join one of our government sector clients. This role will be under their test engineering team that requires excellent manual and automation skills. The role will be focusing on the execution of both functional and API testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Test Manager in effort estimation, resource planning, and scope definition for new releases and projects
- Analyze requirements and collaborate with BAs, developers, and stakeholders to ensure test coverage and clarity of acceptance criteria
- Lead and guide the QA team in test design, execution, and defect management
- Design and implement API testing using tools such as Postman, or equivalent
- Ensure adherence to test processes, maintain traceability, and improve testing efficiency
- Perform hands-on functional, regression, and integration testing as needed
- Participate in reviews of test deliverables, automation frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent QA in project ceremonies and stakeholder discussions when delegated by the Test Manager
- Track, report, and communicate QA status and risks effectively
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in Software Testing, including both manual and automation
- Proven experience in API testing (manual) - must have worked with REST APIs
- Experience with Web (Selenium/Katalon) or Mobile (Appium/Katalon) test automation - good to have
- Sound understanding of STLC, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management
- Ability to work independently, lead smaller QA efforts, and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Strong ownership mindset - able to take initiatives without constant supervision
- Comfortable managing priorities and interfacing directly with project stakeholders
- Collaborative yet assertive when driving QA standards and process compliance
