As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives

Job responsibilities

. Executes creative security solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.

. Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language and addresses basic code quality issues.

. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.

. Analyzes metric visualizations for continuous improvement of software applications and their monitoring.

. Actively applies automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle.

. Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems

. Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers

. Supports the adoption of engineering best practices within your team to achieve resiliency

. Participates in continuity-related awareness, training and educational activities, and exercises.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines

. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

. Proficiency to code in Java and Spring.

. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a scalable environment

. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline

. Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

. Exposure to cloud technologies

. Monitoring Tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana)
