As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls, youserve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative security solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language and addresses basic code quality issues.
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Analyzes metric visualizations for continuous improvement of software applications and their monitoring.
- Actively applies automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems
- Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
- Supports the adoption of engineering best practices within your team to achieve resiliency
- Participates in continuity-related awareness, training and educational activities, and exercises.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency to code in Java and Spring.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a scalable environment
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
- Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
