Software Quality Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Quality Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team supporting a large-scale national strategic project within the education sector.

You will work closely with developers, UX/UI designers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and other stakeholders to ensure high standards of product quality across web and mobile applications. The team places strong emphasis on quality engineering, automation and user experience. JD for QE

Key Responsibilities

Champion and drive Quality Engineering practices within an Agile development environment.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are built according to requirements and quality standards.
Validate product features against acceptance criteria.
Design, develop and maintain test environments, test frameworks, test plans, regression suites and test cases.
Identify blind spots, edge cases and gaps in test coverage.
Perform manual, automated, functional, exploratory, cross-platform and performance testing.
Test applications across iOS, Android and Web platforms.
Conduct System Integration Testing with external systems and prepare test reports.
Collaborate with the development team to establish and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. JD for QE

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, software testing or a related role.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools/frameworks such as:PlaywrightSeleniumCucumberAppium
Knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
Experience with non-functional testing, including:Performance testingLoad testingSecurity testing
Good understanding of mobile applications on iOS and Android, including React Native environments.
Good understanding of web technologies such as React.js and Node.js and relevant debugging tools.
Strong understanding of JavaScript unit-testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha or Jasmine.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a cross-functional Agile team. JD for QE

Good to Have

Experience developing tools or processes that improve test automation and overall testing efficiency.
Software Quality Assurance or related certification. JD for QE

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Quality Engineer / Automation QA / SDET who is comfortable building and maintaining automated test frameworks rather than only executing manual test cases. Experience across web, mobile, automation, integration testing and CI/CD would be highly relevant for this role.
