About the Role
The CIO's Office is run like a modern startup within GovTech, focused on solving important and underserved problems to improve the effectiveness of the organization. We build products that improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness across GovTech.
You will join a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers to build and deploy solutions that directly impact our colleagues and enhance internal operations across HR, finance, procurement, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the team's product outcomes, responsible for engineering high-quality digital solutions that make our workplace more efficient and effective.You will:
Design, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications for internal corporate functions, including HR, finance, and procurement.
Collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers to translate user research and service journey maps into robust and scalable technical solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and participate in code reviews to maintainhigh standards of quality.
Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and ideation to deployment and maintenance, in an agile environment that believes in experimentation and iteration.
Work with modern tools and cloud-native infrastructure to build and operate secure, flexible, and extensible systems.
Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture, sharing knowledge and helping the team improve its engineering practices.
[What we are looking for]
Required Qualifications:
A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Prior software engineering experience (inclusive of internships) would be ideal.
Proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies. Our current stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Go, but we are open to candidates with strongfundamentals and experience in similar languages and frameworks.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
A product-oriented mindset with a focus on creating value for users and delivering impactful outcomes.
Bonus:
Experience building internal tools or enterprise software.
Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps best practices.
A passion for improving processes and a belief that technology can significantly improve the workplace experience.
