Software Engineer

Situated in the heart of Singapore's Central Business District, Rakuten Asia Pte. Ltd. is Rakuten's Asia Regional headquarters. Through advertisement product development, product strategy, and data management, among others, Rakuten Asia is strengthening Rakuten Group's core competencies to take the lead in an increasingly digitalized world.

GATD (Global Ad Technology Division) is in charge of system and solution development and operation for Rakuten's advertising-related businesses. It is a multinational division that spans five countries, Japan, Singapore, India, China, and the United Kingdom, and uses a huge amount of accumulated data to provide wide-ranging support across each division within the company.

We are look for a Software Engineer who adopt new technologies, make full use of Rakuten's assets, and take on challenges with the aim of continuous growth.

Responsibilities:

• Software development related to platforms and solutions in the advertising and marketing field (design, document creation, development/maintenance operation, testing, etc.)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrating internal and external systems.

• Engage in innovative problem-solving activities, requiring conceptual thinking creating out of the box solutions with prototypes and pilots.

• Instrument services and solutions to ensure deployed software is scalable and reliable.

Requirements:

• Any related degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.

• Hands on experience with Web Applications backend development using Web Frameworks like Spring Boot.

• Strong CS fundamentals in object-oriented design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

• Experience with distributed systems, caching and persistence solutions would be a plus.

• Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues under the pressure of time.

• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with strong command of verbal and written English.

• Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence.

• Customer-focused mind-set, taking pride in creating an informative data-driven journey.

Experience in the following tech programs:

• HTML5, CSS3, JS, AngularJS, ReactJS

• Core Java 8, Spring 4.0 and above

• MYSQL/Any relational DB experience.

• Mongo DB/any NO SQL experience

• Jenkins

• Maven

• Docker/Spark streaming

• Junit
