Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise MPLS and software-defined network (SDN) infrastructure (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls), integrating automation tools.

• Monitor network performance using software tools and ensure high availability/reliability through programmatic alerting and orchestration.

• Troubleshoot complex network issues via scripting, APIs, and analytics to achieve rapid resolution and minimal downtime.

• Implement network changes, upgrades, and optimizations using infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with software development and cross-functional teams to align network support with IT/business requirements and DevOps workflows.

• Maintain automated documentation of network configurations, processes, and incidents using tools like Git or Ansible.

• Ensure compliance with network security policies through automated policy enforcement and auditing.

• Manage Windows servers supporting network devices, including automated patching to the latest versions.

• Provide technical consultancy for onboarding systems to MPLS/SDN infrastructure via APIs and programmable interfaces.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with switching (VLAN, STP, Trunking, Port Security) in programmable environments (e.g., Cisco ACI, Juniper Apstra).

• Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP) with automation via NETCONF/YANG or REST APIs.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with large-scale MPLS networks (P/PE/CE routers, VRF, VRF route fusion), including software orchestration.

• Experience configuring/managing Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or equivalent devices via CLI, APIs, and SDN controllers.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, DNAC, F5 Load Balancers, and automation scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform).

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, and network programmability.

• Knowledge of Windows Server patching and automation tools (e.g., SCCM, PowerShell).

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of next-gen firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point) with API-driven management.

• Familiarity with network security (IDS/IPS, VPNs, Zero Trust) implemented via software policies.

• Experience with monitoring/SDN tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, WUG, Veeam Backup, Syslog-NG, and Prometheus/Grafana.

• Exposure to cloud-native networking, VPC management (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid SDN.

• Proficiency in Windows Server/Hyper-V management (AD, CA, SMTP, DNS, WSUS) with scripting/automation.
