Purpose and Scope
We are seeking a Senior/Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team working to revolutionize the waste management and environmental services industry. In this role, you will lead the design and development of innovative software solutions that drive operational efficiency, sustainability, regulatory compliance, and data intelligence across our platforms.
You'll work on impactful projects that help businesses reduce environmental impact, optimize logistics, manage compliance reporting, and support circular economy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement new/existing scalable software solutions for waste tracking, route optimization, emissions reporting, and data analytics
- Lead the development of new digital features and improvement across applications and backend systems
- Work closely with stakeholders in operations, compliance, and sustainability to understand and implement business needs
- Champion engineering best practices, code reviews, test automation, and ensure up-to-date system documentation
- Integrate third-party systems, sensors, and IoT data where applicable
- Stay informed about trends in environmental technologies, sustainability, and smart waste systems
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong programming fundamentals with languages such as Python, C#, .Net, PHP, Java, Next.js
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong database experience (SQL and NoSQL) and understanding of large-scale data systems
- Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering practices
- Proficiency in modern full-stack web application development (TypeScript preferred)
- Experience with API design and system integration
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor developers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders
