Role Summary
We're looking to onboard a Software Developer to build enhancements and support post-implementation/BAU for mission-critical systems. The role spans hands-on development (Java & COBOL), SQL analytics, defect resolution, and close collaboration with project leads and business users.
Responsibilities
- Feature Delivery: Design, develop, and enhance application features in Java and COBOL document technical specs and test cases.
- SQL & Reporting: Write and optimize SQL queries for reports, analytics, and data validation.
- Production Support: Troubleshoot post-go-live issues across Java/COBOL apps and databases perform root-cause analysis and performance tuning.
- Quality & Testing: Execute unit/integration testing assist UAT ensure changes meet functional acceptance criteria.
- Collaboration: Partner with project leads, users, and developers to refine requirements, improve processes, and drive automation.
Must-Have Skills
- Practical experience with Java and COBOL mainframe development.
- Strong SQL skills (querying, tuning, data analysis).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, change requests, and release management.
- Sharp problem-solving, attention to detail, and clear communication with technical & non-technical stakeholders.
- Team player with ownership mindset.
Nice-to-Have
- Enterprise Java frameworks (Spring, Hibernate/JPA).
- Frontend exposure (React, TypeScript).
- Excel VBA/Macros for automation.
- Mainframe tooling (e.g., JCL, DB2) is a plus.
