Job Summary -Software Engineer

As part of the CSE Design Tools Product Development Cell, the Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating software tools used by Technical Consultants, Order Engineering Developers, and related stakeholders within Thales DIS worldwide. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and user-centric solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product Owner(s) to understand business and technical requirements, and to design software solutions with a strong focus on user experience, maintainability, robustness, and performance.

• Design software solutions that meet defined requirements and provide constructive feedback or alternative approaches when requirements require refinement.

• Participate actively in an Agile development environment as part of a Scrum team, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation (e.g. planning poker), reviews, and retrospectives.

• Implement software designs and perform unit testing to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Prepare and maintain end-user guides and technical documentation as required.

• Provide Level 3 application support to users, including troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues.

Job Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in Java development (Core Java, Swing, AWT)-At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in software development using Java.

• Experience working in an Agile development environment (e.g. Scrum and/or Kanban).

• Experience with software validation and testing practices, including tools such as JUnit and XRay or equivalent.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and related Agile engineering practices.

• Exposure to or experience in Web Development, J2EE, Python, and/or XSLT will be considered an advantage.

• Demonstrated ability to learn continuously, share knowledge, and work effectively as part of a team.

Education

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
