Job Description

Maker Lab's cross-functional teams of multidisciplinary specialists are embedded into client teams across digital marketing competencies from measurement & analytics to content production.

Role Summary:

Community Manager & Copywriter for a major tourism brand. You'll be the brand's voice, crafting B2B/B2C social copy and driving engagement. Requires 4+ years experience in copywriting and crisis monitoring to foster belonging, manage day-to-day interactions, and build brand advocacy.

Role:

  • Daily Community Management: Manage all day-to-day community interactions, including responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions in a timely, engaging, and strictly on-brand voice
  • Copywriting and Ideation: Be part of the process from ideation to execution of compelling copy for various social platforms.
  • Proactive Engagement: Proactively spark and moderate conversations, posing thoughtful questions and creating engaging prompts to encourage user participation and foster a sense of belonging actively
  • Brand Voice & Copy: Develop and deliver engaging, on-brand copy for all social media and community interactions, including drafting captions and assisting with general wordsmithing, while adhering to platform best practices
  • Sentiment & Insights: Monitor social channels for audience sentiment, emerging issues, and potential crises, using this data to identify opportunities and provide proactive feedback to internal teams
  • Internal Champion: Champion the audience internally, providing the creative and strategic teams with regular, detailed feedback and insights on what the community is talking about, loving, and asking for
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Social Strategist to ensure all community-facing copy and interactions are perfectly aligned with the brand's tone of voice and strategic goals
  • Crisis Monitoring: Approach community management in a proactive, engaging, and fun way, while being prepared to escalate any reputational issues as needed

You:

  • Minimum 4+ years of professional experience working in a community management and content writing/creative copywriting capacity
  • Deep knowledge of social audiences, platforms, and their specific formats, and how to properly leverage them to foster genuine engagement
  • Attuned with diverse online communities across entertainment, internet, and pop culture industries, and always plugged into a variety of social trends and groups
  • Thorough understanding of social media platforms, community dynamics, and online safety principles
  • Proven ability to manage quality control and tone of voice through excellent copywriting skills
  • Knowledge of local context and culture is essential, enabling culturally resonant communication
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and a self-starter committed to creative problem-solving under pressure
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
