What The Role Is

At the Founders Memorial, we are creating a brand-new garden-museum experience for Singaporeans, by Singaporeans. A national landmark at the heart of our garden city, uncovering the story of how independent Singapore came to be, and bringing Singaporeans together to reflect and talk about the heritage of our founding leaders what it means for us today and for the future. A home for Singapores founding values to live on and find new life in its people.

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our Education, Interpretation and Digital Engagement team at the Founders Memorial. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating campaigns and opportunities to increase awareness for the Memorial, and for visitors to discover citizens stories at the Memorial.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Education, Interpretation and Digital Engagement team. You will join a passionate and cross-disciplinary team and work with a range of creatives and partners. Be part of the making of this 'living' Memorial that will connect and inspire Singaporeans for generations to come.

What You Will Be Working On

Experience Design for Core FM Experience and Project Citizens Installation

  • Work collaboratively with the Curatorial and Exhibitions teams and a team of creatives on the experience design of the FMs permanent and special exhibitions that will be launched in 2028. This entails developing the visitor journey mapping and experience design of core spaces outside the galleries and that includes the outdoor spaces with commissioned art installations.
  • Develop the interpretive and digital tools for visitors to experience seamless storytelling in the Memorials unique integrated indoor-outdoor experience and that includes integration with the larger Bay East Garden.
  • Conceptualise and develop the Project Citizens installation (an interactive digital wall) that will draw from the stories collected from our founding generation. This includes curating and presenting the stories in an emotive. dynamic and generative way.

Visitor Experience And Service Blueprint

  • Implement the Service Blueprint that translates the Founders Memorial Charter (that expresses our vision and who we are) to how online and physical visitors will experience the Memorial. The Blueprint will guide our Visitors Services team and Volunteers. This will include revamping the Memorials website and creating a Customer Service guide for Visitor Services and Volunteers.
  • Work with the team to develop FMs Making of exhibition which will be part of the visitor centre at the Memorial and co-develop activity spaces for families and students at the Memorial, in collaboration with stakeholders. This includes working closely with the other FM teams on the design and fit-out of the spaces.

Campaigns to raise awareness for FM

  • In the lead-up to FMs opening, you will work with the Partnerships team to conceptualise and drive a public campaign to generate a sense of ownership of the Memorial among Singaporeans.
  • Post-opening, you will work with Marketing team to develop and execute experiential marketing and visitor engagement strategies, including activation programmes and marketing initiatives to achieve annual visitorship targets. This includes measuring and analysing visitor engagement metrics to refine the Memorials programming strategies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Background in the Arts and Humanities or related field.
  • An interest in local history and/or experience in with culture/heritage/arts sector-related work is preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in designing visitor experiences, including in a creative writing and production role for a wide range of audiences, preferably including experiences based on historical content/and or in a museum setting.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in experience marketing and digital media.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including audiences.
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal) candidates who are proficient in a Mother Tongue language will be considered favourably.
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop experiences for a wide profile of audiences.
  • Strong organisational and project and contract management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Occasional weekend and after-work hours engagements may be required candidates need to be prepared to exercise some flexibility in his/her work schedule.
