About the Position:
The WSH Senior / Executive is responsible for driving and sustaining high standards of workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance within the organization. His/ Her's role is requiring in identifying risks, facilitating safety discussions, driving compliance initiatives, and collaborating extensively with internal teams and external stakeholders. The incumbent is responsible for formulating practical safety solutions, leading corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to statutory and organizational safety standards. This incumbent is also supporting the continuous improvement of safety processes and fosters a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head of Safety in the daily operations of the QHSE department.
- Identify and assess health, safety, and environmental risks related to workplace activities and processes.
- Recommend and facilitate control measures to eliminate or minimize identified risks.
- Facilitate reviews of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) reports, driving the development and implementation of actionable safety plans.
- Analyze safety non-conformances, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver training programs and workshops to raise safety awareness and embed best practices across the organization.
- Optimize the use of resources dedicated to safety initiatives, balancing effectiveness with operational needs.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and safety assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to promote safety standards and best practices.
- Support accident and incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
- Monitor environmental impacts and promote initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint.
- Assist in supervising and coordinating activities of the HSE team to ensure effective safety management.
- Support management in the preparation for external safety audits and certification processes.
The candidate is expected to satisfy the following criteria: -
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering).
- Minimum 3 years experience with sustainability knowledge and experience, preferably in the warehousing industry.
- Ability to lead by example and influence a culture of safety.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to workplace safety.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management.
Specific experience in the following areas:
- Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated and creative solutions.
- Knowledge of current developments, trends, best practices, project management, and related technology.
- Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff.
- Exposure on leading cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiency, and overall QHSE performance.
- Relevant knowledge in ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHA 18001, ISM, ISPS standards and HSE management system is highly preferred.
- Proficient MS Office skills (e.g., Excel, Words and Power point).
- Independent and positive mindset with flexibility.
- Able to work under pressure with a hands-on approach.
- Requires travel between sites locally whenever required.
