Sleep Health Coach (Hybrid: Sleep Technologist)

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Sleep Health Coach to join our team. This unique hybrid role combines the clinical expertise of a Sleep Technologist with the holistic approach of a Health Coach. The ideal candidate will support patients with sleep disorders (especially Obstructive Sleep Apnea) while also guiding them on broader lifestyle, wellness, and behavioral improvements.
The role is patient-facing, engagement-driven, and central to helping clients achieve sustainable health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Sleep-Focused Support
- Conduct consultations and evaluations with individuals referred for sleep-related issues.
- Assess sleep study results, device usage, and treatment adherence (e.g., CPAP compliance).
- Provide patient education on sleep hygiene, treatment plans, and device management.
- Demonstrate and supervise correct use, cleaning, and maintenance of sleep aids and devices.
- Document patient progress, treatment responsiveness, and adherence trends.
- Collaborate with physician-partners and clinical leads on diagnosis, care, and escalation needs.
Health Coaching & Lifestyle Guidance
- Support clients in making behavior changes that improve health (e.g., weight management, stress reduction, activity levels, nutrition).
- Apply motivational interviewing and coaching techniques to help patients set and achieve health goals.
- Design tailored health care plans that integrate medical needs with lifestyle improvements.
- Conduct group seminars or digital engagement sessions (e.g., WhatsApp nudges, workshops) to build awareness and sustain motivation.
- Track and encourage long-term adherence to both medical and lifestyle interventions.
Engagement & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other healthcare providers (clinical lead, health coaches, account managers, etc.) to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries and provide guidance on both procedural and lifestyle aspects of health management.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient engagement and outcomes.
Requirements
Essential:
- Certified Sleep Technologist (e.g., RPSGT, RST, or equivalent) with proven clinical experience.
- Knowledge of sleep disorder diagnosis and management, particularly OSA.
- Strong patient education and communication skills.
- Familiarity with equipment use, troubleshooting, and compliance tracking.
- Compassionate, patient-centric, and self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with digital tools for patient communication and documentation.
Preferred / Advantageous:
- Training or certification in Coaching, Nutrition, or Fitness.
- Prior experience in motivational interviewing or health coaching.
- Experience in delivering seminars, workshops, or community health outreach.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
