Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) to ensure precise cutting, bending, and placement of rebar aligned with structural drawings for reinforced concrete works
- Calculate rebar quantities and total steel weight from structural drawings to support procurement, cost estimation, and material optimization
- Generate and update detailed shop drawings for structural elements including beams, columns, slabs, walls, and foundations using AutoCAD to facilitate accurate construction execution
- Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to interpret complex structural designs and resolve on-site discrepancies efficiently
- Conduct site inspections to verify rebar placement, alignment, and compliance with approved BBS prior to concreting works, ensuring quality and safety standards
- Optimize reinforcement layouts to minimize material waste and enhance construction efficiency without compromising structural integrity
- Prepare as-built drawings reflecting site modifications and maintain detailed records for consultant and authority submissions to ensure project documentation accuracy
- Enforce strict adherence to construction standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures for all reinforcement works to uphold project compliance and safety
Qualification And Experiences
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
- 5-10 years of experience in building and/or civil engineering projects
- Exposure to LTA infrastructure projects or large-scale government transport works
- Strong expertise in foundations, structural works, Earth Retaining and Stabilizing Structures (ERSS), and viaduct projects
- Proven ability to interpret complex structural designs and produce accurate BBS and shop drawings
- Hands-on experience in site supervision, reinforcement detailing, and construction quality control
