Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Site Project Engineer to join our team, specifically to support Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) extension and maintenance projects.
This role requires a blend of field supervision and electrical technical knowledge, ensuring that all site works are executed to the highest quality and safety specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & technical oversight
- Supervise daily on-site activities for GIS installation, extension, and routine maintenance projects.
- Apply fundamental electrical knowledge to inspect and troubleshoot site installation works, ensuring they meet project specifications and applicable utility requirements
- Provide technical guidance for GIS-related operations, equipment testing, and system integrity checks.
Safe & permit management
- Act as an authorized signatory for Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and verify safety protocols for all high-risk maintenance and extension works
- Enforce rigorous safety standards in high-voltage or restricted environments, ensuring all personnel comply with applicable safety requirement
- Serve as the primary link between the field team and the Project Management office
- Support the Project Manager by preparing detailed progress reports, maintaining site logs, and managing documentation related to maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- Ensure accurate, real-time reporting of site progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
- Experience: Proven experience in project engineering, specifically within electrical utility or infrastructure environments.
- Expertise: Fundamental understanding of electrical systems, with specific exposure to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) extension and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Certifications: Must possess valid PSM-SP (Process Safety Management) and CSOC (Construction Safety Orientation Course).
Operational Requirements
- Mobility: Must possess ownreliable transportation to facilitate regular travel between various projectsites and the office.
- Communication: Strong organizational and reporting skills ability to clearly communicate technical field observations to the Project Manager.
- Accountability: Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining strong accountability to project deadlines and quality standards.
