- Monitor project progress and address any delays proactively.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to align with project goals.
- Oversee all on-site construction activities including material procurement, subcontractor management, and workforce allocation.
- Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and manpower for smooth progress.
- Manage site costs, track expenses, and optimise resource use to stay within budget.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Plan and manage site facilities like access and storage areas.
- Ensure construction complies with design specs, contracts, building codes, and regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, welfare, and environmental laws.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the site team and subcontractors.
- Plan ahead to solve problems and resolve conflicts on site.
- Analyse and manage project risks.
- Implement process improvements when necessary.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related field (Bachelor's preferred for senior roles).
- 5 to 10 years experience in construction site management or similar role.
- Experience managing various construction projects (residential, commercial, infrastructure, HDB, LTA, DSTA) preferred depending on company focus.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate diverse teams and subcontractors.
