Job Summary
The Project Manager will lead, manage, and oversee all fire protection construction projects from initiation to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with statutory requirements, and according to client expectations. The candidate must possess strong technical knowledge in fire protection systems and proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver fire protection construction projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets
- Manage project schedules and allocate resources effectively to achieve on-time completion while maintaining quality standards
- Monitor project budgets and control costs to meet financial targets throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with Singapore statutory requirements and industry regulations for fire protection systems to maintain legal and safety standards
- Apply technical expertise in fire protection systems to identify and resolve project challenges, optimizing system performance and reliability
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to align project deliverables with expectations and contractual obligations, fostering strong professional relationships
- Oversee risk management processes by identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks proactively to minimize impact on project outcomes
- Coordinate communication and workflow among contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain seamless project execution
- Report project progress and performance metrics to senior management to support informed decision-making and strategic planning
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience in fire protection or M&E construction
- Proven track record managing multiple large-scale projects in Singapore
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems including sprinkler, hose reel, hydrant, and gas suppression systems
- Familiarity with SCDF submission processes, Fire Safety Act, and relevant Codes of Practice
- Proficient in reading technical drawings AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
