SITE MANAGER – GAS TANKER NEWBUILDING (CHINA)

Apollo Ship Services is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead Owner's site supervision activities for Gas Tanker newbuilding projects in China.

The Site anager will act as the Owner's principal representative at the shipyard and will be responsible for overseeing all technical, quality, safety, inspection, testing, commissioning, and reporting activities throughout the vessel construction program. The role requires strong leadership, sound commercial awareness, and extensive experience in gas carrier construction projects.

Requirements:

10+ years shipbuilding/marine experience
5+ years in Site Manager or Senior Site Superintendent role
LPG, LNG, VLGC, VLAC or Tanker newbuilding experience
Strong knowledge of shipyard quality, inspections, testing and commissioning
Experience working with Classification Societies and shipbuilding contracts

Education

Degree or Diploma in:
Marine Engineering
Naval Architecture
Mechanical Engineering
Shipbuilding Engineering
Equivalent maritime qualification

Technical & Quality Management

Ensure compliance with Shipbuilding Contract requirements, Technical Specifications, Classification Rules, Flag State requirements, and applicable international regulations.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of Hull, Machinery, Electrical, Cargo, Coating, and Specialist Inspectors.
Review inspection and test plans and ensure attendance at all key inspections and trials.
Monitor non-conformities, deficiencies, and punch list items through to satisfactory close-out.
Ensure proper maintenance of inspection reports, certificates, test records, and quality documentation.

Gas Carrier System Oversight

Supervise construction and commissioning of:
Cargo containment systems
Cargo tank insulation systems
Cargo handling equipment
Cargo compressors and reliquefication systems
Cargo instrumentation and automation systems
Safety and emergency shutdown systems
Marine engineering and auxiliary systems
Deck machinery and mooring equipment

Technical Competencies

Thorough understanding of:
IGC Code requirements
Classification Society Rules
Newbuilding quality control systems
Shipbuilding contracts and specifications
FAT, HAT, SAT, Commissioning, and Sea Trials
Cargo containment and cargo handling systems
Marine propulsion and auxiliary systems
