Job Summary
You will enforce inspection plans and manage site operations for concrete repair and protective coatings in tunnel sectors, coordinating with engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Enforce Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) hold points for concrete repair, SPS application, and SACP installation across all tunnel sectors to ensure quality compliance
- Size and plan work zones to fit within the 2.5-hour engineering access window, authorizing work commencement and clearance declaration for safe operations
- Manage digital ITP records using the TAMP tablet system and submit fortnightly and monthly progress reports to the Supervising Officer (SO) to maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) pre-hacking scans and confirm absence of embedded service conflicts before concrete removal to prevent damage
- Supervise and witness pull-off adhesion tests, compressive strength cube tests, wet film thickness checks, and holiday detection on completed SPS coats to verify workmanship
- Liaise with SMRT and SBS Transit engineering access teams and respond to all SO and Operator queries within 3 working days to maintain effective communication
- Issue meeting minutes within 3 days of each meeting and maintain daily site records and photographic evidence linked to the BIM Level 2 defect model for traceability
- Support the Qualified Person (Design) on sump pit structural works and SCCCS pre-pour sign-off, and assist the CP3 Specialist on SACP installation and monitoring to ensure technical compliance
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the PE Board of Singapore
- Minimum 5 years experience on alteration & addition (A&A) or infrastructure maintenance projects
- Willingness to obtain ePIC certification for assigned MRT line(s) before commencement
- Familiarity with BS EN 1504, BS EN ISO 12696, and LTA Particular Specification requirements for concrete repair and SPS
- Proficiency in digital site records and ITP systems
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Current MRT Operator tunnel induction (SMRT and/or SBST)
- Experience with BIM or asset management platforms
- Ability to work night shifts, minimum 4 tunnel access nights per week during peak programme phases
