The Role:
You will be directly responsible for overseeing all on-site activities related to steel fabrication and erection. You will ensure work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision, strictly adhering to project specifications and timelines. You will be the key link between project management, engineers, and the skilled workforce on the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily on-site activities for steel fabrication, assembly, and erection.
Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings, erection plans, and structural schematics.
Lead, guide, and manage a team of steel fabricators, fitters, and erectors to achieve project milestones.
Ensure all fabrication and erection work complies with approved methods, engineering designs, and quality standards.
Enforce strict adherence to all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, including WSH (Construction) Regulations and safe work procedures.
Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings. Identify and mitigate potential site hazards.
Monitor material usage, manage site inventory, and coordinate delivery of steel components.
Conduct inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, weld quality, bolt tightening, and alignment before, during, and after erection.
Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients, and other trade supervisors to ensure seamless workflow.
Prepare and submit daily progress reports, site documentation, and any non-conformance reports.
Troubleshoot on-site technical and logistical challenges effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory: Diploma / Degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Mandatory: Minimum 3 years and above of proven hands-on supervisory experience in steel fabrication and erection within the Singapore construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding codes (e.g., AWS), bolting, and connection details.
Strong Advantage: Certified training and proven expertise in steel structure erection methodologies and temporary works.
Strong Advantage: Proven track record in implementing and monitoring construction safety requirements. Certification in BCSS, Supervisor Safety Course (SSC) or similar is highly preferred.
Familiarity with local authorities regulations and submission processes related to structural works.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit to work on construction sites.
