Site Engineer (Geotechnical Experience Preferred)
Work Schedule: 6 days per week
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure geotechnical and underpass construction works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution of pipe jacking / mining activities
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and site teams for smooth project delivery
- Oversee project progress, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Plan and allocate resources, coordinating closely with project and site teams
Key Duties
- Coordinate with stakeholders (QPD, QPS, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities) to ensure efficient project execution
- Oversee day-to-day site operations for underpass and geotechnical works
- Supervise subcontractors and workers, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical specifications
- Monitor geotechnical instrumentation and ground conditions to ensure structural stability and safety
- Conduct regular site inspections to track progress and ensure adherence to approved methods
- Review and optimize engineering processes to improve efficiency and productivity
- Prepare and implement method statements, work procedures, and technical documentation
- Develop and maintain project schedules, progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly), and Annex C submissions
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to secure resources and resolve technical issues
- Identify and address site challenges (e.g., ground conditions, design discrepancies) and raise RFIs where necessary
- Ensure accuracy in site setting out, monitoring works, and compliance with geotechnical design requirements
- Support the Project Manager in liaising with authorities to meet regulatory and submission requirements
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients and consultants on project progress
- Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure all works meet contract specifications
- Maintain proper documentation, including site records, reports, and inspection logs
- Ensure all testing, monitoring, and inspections comply with project and contractual requirements
- Monitor resource utilization to minimize waste and improve cost efficiency
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in pipe jacking, tunnelling, or mining works preferred
- Minimum relevant experience in geotechnical works and site supervision
- Strong ability to manage site coordination, technical issues, and project progress
- Good knowledge of safety regulations and geotechnical construction standards
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
