Job Role

We are seeking a Scientist with photonics experience to work on photonics integrated chips design, integration and engineering. The scientist will work on various research topics such as device design, photonic circuit and integration and packaging with commercial Si photonics and III-V fabrication, chip-based packaging, and optical to electronic testing and measurements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative silicon photonics chip solutions through R&D activities focused on novel designs, efficient integration, and advanced packaging techniques.
  • Perform photonic design, simulation, and optimization.
  • Perform optical and electronic measurements
  • Work with Si photonics foundries, integration partners, and packaging/assembly manufacturers to ensure seamless design, fabrication, and deployment of silicon photonics chips.
  • Collaborate with university and research institutes on technology advancement

Job Qualification

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Science and Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field with a strong focus on Optics and Photonics.
  • 3 years of relevant experience is preferred, or highly motivated recent Ph.D. graduates with strong alignment to the job requirements will be given consideration.
  • Candidate is expected to be proficiency in designing and simulating various photonic devices, such as waveguides, couplers, filters, and resonators. Familiarity with layout generation tools and software.
  • Knowledge of the complete photonic chip design flow, from layout to fabrication and testing.
  • Good understanding of photonic fabrication processes and advanced packaging techniques.
  • Commercial photonics product design and product engineering is preferred
  • Experience with optical and electronic test and measurements is preferred
  • Experience in lasers and III-V materials is an advantage
