What You Can Expect

  • Learn/understand the optical component / integrated circuit design flow used in industry.

  • Learn/understand the design constraint / trade-off to be considered in industry.

  • Think outside the box and design innovative optical device / integrated circuit while considering the industry's requirements above.

What We're Looking For

  • Student in Ph.D degree program

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor optical devices such as modulators, detectors, lasers and other waveguide devices.

  • Familiarity or direct experience in the standard Si/CMOS process technologies required for fabrication of electro-optical devices.

  • Familiarity or direct experience of optical simulation software tools and/or optical device modeling.

  • Ability to present the data and ideas to a diverse audience.
