Job Scope
We are looking for motivated talents to join our team in developing cutting-edge silicon photonics devices. The responsibilities include:
1. Device Development: Design and develop high-performance passive and active silicon photonics devices (e.g., couplers, splitters, polarization splitters/rotators, MUX/DEMUX, phase shifters, photodetectors, modulators, etc.) for optical transceivers, co-packaged optics, and optical switches.
2. Process Innovation: Collaborate with industrial silicon photonics foundries to co-develop innovative process flows for next-generation photonic devices.
3. Device Simulation: Perform comprehensive device simulations and build numerical models to predict device performance.
4. Layout Design: Create tape-out layouts for foundries and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
5. Testing & Optimization: Conduct detailed optical and electrical testing, perform root cause analysis, and iteratively enhance device performance.
6. Team Contribution: Play a key role in the design and development of large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs).
Requirements
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
1. Educational Background: PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields, with strong research experience in silicon photonics.
2. Additional Expertise: Experience in quantum photonics or optical computing is a plus.
3. Industry Experience: Experience with tape-out processes in photonic foundries and familiarity with photonic PDKs.
4. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in simulation tools such as Lumerical MODE, FDTD, CHARGE, Ansys HFSS, and Silvaco.
5. Programming Skills: Proficient in Python and MATLAB for modeling and data analysis.
6. Communication: Strong communication skills, with fluency in English and/or Chinese.
7. Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
