Job Summary
The Boarding Officer/Ship Agent (Operations) serves as the primary liaison for vessels arriving at port, managing all statutory formalities and declarations to ensure seamless ship entry and departure while driving operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the processing of all statutory formalities and declarations to ensure timely and compliant vessel entry and departure
- Monitor cargo loading and unloading operations on-site to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Manage cargo documentation, invoices, and inwards shipment records to maintain accurate operational data
- Liaise proactively with clients to communicate cargo clearance status and resolve issues promptly
- Track vessel arrival and departure schedules to coordinate operational activities effectively
- Allocate and optimise resources to support smooth port operations and maximise utilisation
- Prepare accurate quotations and proforma disbursements for clients, ship-owners, and shipping lines to facilitate financial transparency
- Identify operational bottlenecks and propose workflow improvements to enhance organisational efficiency
- Resolve operational challenges promptly to maintain uninterrupted service delivery
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Ship Captains and Chief Engineers to support collaborative operations
- Adapt to irregular working hours and manage unanticipated events to meet dynamic port schedules
