Job Description Summary
We are looking for a seniorlevel SharePoint specialist with deep expertise in SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SP SE) architecture, installation, configuration, and enterprisescale deployment. This role is responsible for designing and leading the implementation of robust, secure, and highavailability SharePoint SE environments, while guiding teams, establishing standards, and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, lead, and execute endtoend installation, configuration, and deployment of SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SP SE) across onpremises or hybrid infrastructures.
- Define and implement SharePoint farm architecture, including topology design, capacity planning, service application strategy, and highavailability configurations.
- Oversee and optimize SQL Server architecture supporting SharePoint SE, including Always On, performance tuning, and DR strategies.
- Lead configuration of authentication models (NTLM, Kerberos, ADFS, Azure AD, hybrid identity) and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
- Own the setup and optimization of Search Service, User Profile Service, Managed Metadata, and other core service applications.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, operational standards, and best practices for SharePoint SE environments.
- Direct patching, cumulative updates, and upgrade cycles, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to changemanagement processes.
- Develop advanced PowerShell automation for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Provide technical leadership to Infrastructure, Network, and Security teams, ensuring alignment across all layers of the platform.
- Troubleshoot complex, multilayered SharePoint issues and lead rootcause analysis for highimpact incidents.
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation, runbooks, topology diagrams, and operational guidelines.
- Evaluate and integrate hybrid capabilities with Microsoft 365, including hybrid search and cloudconnected features.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide crossfunctional teams on SharePoint SE best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7-10+ years of handson experience with SharePoint Server (2016/2019/SE) in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise architecting and deploying SharePoint SE farms at scale.
- Strong command of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, IIS, SQL Server, and enterprise networking concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell for automation and administration.
- Deep understanding of SharePoint security, authentication, permissions, and governance.
- Experience designing and implementing highavailability, DR, and backup/restore strategies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, and network layers.
- Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and influencing technical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications in SharePoint, Azure, or related infrastructure technologies.
- Experience with hybrid SharePoint-Microsoft 365 architectures.
- Familiarity with workflow and automation platforms (Power Automate, Nintex).
- Experience with enterprise migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, Quest).
