Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join the APAC financial reporting team at an asset manager. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting and reporting processes for a portfolio of entities across the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, experience in financial reporting, and the ability to work with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for assigned APAC entities, including planning, coordination, review, and issue escalation.
- Manage key accounting processes such as intercompany transactions, accruals, allocations, and balance sheet substantiation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in other teams such as Treasury and Tax
- Supervise and develop team resources, ensuring high-quality execution and ongoing skill development.
- Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting, including documentation, monitoring, and audit readiness.
- Oversee statutory and management reporting, including preparation and review of local GAAP financial statements, variance analysis, and stakeholder commentary.
- Coordinate tax compliance activities, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing support.
- Manage regulatory filings and ad-hoc surveys for APAC jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to execute daily tasks, resolve issues, and drive process improvements.
Key Requirements:
- CPA with 6-12 years of progressive financial reporting experience in a fast-paced environment.
- In-house financial reporting experience in a financial institute is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and/or Local GAAP is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with financial systems/ERPs is advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
- High level of accountability, work ethic, and a passion for excellence.
