Settlement Officer

Responsibilities:

• Execute reconciliation and validation of trades, costs, and fees between ETRM and counterparties/brokerages/exchanges.
• Generate and issue trade confirmations, contracts, and invoices; resolve mismatches and amendments effectively.
• Validate and approve payment of broker invoices.
• Manage and supervise the delivery and payment process for Carbon Emissions Credits.
• Administer and manage carbon credits inventory across various registries while ensuring reconciliation with internal systems.
• Monitor counterparty and credit risk exposures, including limits, collateral management, and margin calls.
• Serve as administrators for exchanges regarding trading limits, fees, and user setups.
• Contribute as a subject matter expert on new business product initiatives.
• Ensure all practices adhere to internal control guidelines and external regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in trading operations or middle/back office in commodities or related markets.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on strong controls and continuous improvement.
• Strong reconciliation experience with keen attention to detail and proven ability to resolve discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Excel, including formula-driven spreadsheets, lookups, and reconciliation techniques; comfortable with building and following checklists.
• Familiarity with trade/order management systems, exchange processes, and margining workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with a reliable approach under time pressure, demonstrating proactive task ownership and timely issue escalation.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the day and meet strict end-of-day deadlines.
• Good commercial understanding of oil, LNG, and carbon trading conventions, as well as basic carbon credit flows and OTC bilateral mechanics.
• Prior experience with carbon registries and carbon contract workflows.
• Exposure to OSN/Dubai partial structures and contract generation for physical deliveries.
• Interaction experience with regional banks/custodians, invoicing, and ERP systems.
• Basic scripting or data automation skills (e.g., Power Query, VBA) to streamline workflows.
