Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with a strong background in App Engine development to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist who also thrives in a leadership capacity-guiding junior developers, setting best practices, and delivering complex ServiceNow solutions with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
  • Develop and optimize complex workflows, business rules, and custom applications.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and maintain code quality across the team.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure all deliverables meet quality and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs and knowledge base articles.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and solution design sessions, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of ServiceNow development and implementation experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow App Engine development.

Current ServiceNow certifications, such as:

  • Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
  • Experience in at least two large-scale ServiceNow implementations.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting.
  • Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow App Engine Studio and App Engine Templates.
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities and limitations.

Expertise in:

  • Business Rules
  • Project Scripts
  • UI Policies & Actions
  • Workflows & Flow Designer
  • Integration Hub
  • Service Portal Development
  • Experience with source control and deployment tools.
  • Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP web services and APIs.

Leadership Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior developers.
  • Experience in conducting technical training sessions.
  • Strong code review, QA, and performance optimization capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Skilled in effort estimation, delivery planning, and managing technical deliverables.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong technical documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple ServiceNow releases and platform upgrades.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT Service Management processes.
  • Experience in performance tuning, optimization, and ServiceNow governance.
  • Additional certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies.
