Service Technician (Electrical)

Responsibilities

1. Conduct routine inspections and functional testing to ensure electrical equipment operates safely and reliably.
2. Diagnose electrical faults and equipment malfunctions using appropriate testing instruments and troubleshooting methods.
3. Carry out wiring, cable termination, component replacement, and other electrical repair works according to technical requirements.
4. Assist engineers with equipment installation, commissioning, testing, calibration, and onboard service activities.
5. Perform installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, instruments, gauges, sensors, and associated systems.
6. Interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to support troubleshooting and maintenance work.
7. Inspect electrical components and identify defective parts requiring repair or replacement.
8. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and operational downtime.
9. Maintain proper records of servicing activities, fault findings, repairs performed, and replacement parts used.
10. Observe established safety procedures while working at customer sites, onboard vessels, shipyards, and other operational environments.

Requirements

1. Minimum NITEC in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
2. Relevant hands-on experience in electrical servicing, maintenance, installation, or troubleshooting is advantageous candidates with suitable technical training may also be considered.
3. Good understanding of electrical systems, wiring, electrical components, and the use of basic testing and measuring instruments.
4. Able to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams, perform hands-on troubleshooting, and use common electrical tools safely.
5. Responsible and proactive team player with good problem-solving skills, physical fitness for hands-on field work, and flexibility to work overtime or irregular hours when required.
