The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machines or systems at customer sites. The role requires basic software knowledge and the ability to understand design drawings to support system debugging, minor modifications, and continuous improvement. The engineer acts as a key technical interface between customers, internal engineering, and vendors to ensure timely and effective service support.
Perform machine or system installation, setup, and commissioning at customer sites
Support system testing, dry runs, and basic functional verification
Ensure machines operate according to design specifications and customer requirements
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and basic software-related issues
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance activities
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers
Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or design teams when required
Perform basic software configuration, parameter setting, and backup/restore
Support HMI or control system updates under guidance
Assist in identifying software-related root causes during troubleshooting
Read and understand basic electrical, mechanical, and system design drawings
Support minor design modifications or improvement works (as-built updates, minor changes)
Assist in preparing service reports, modification records, and technical documentation
Communicate clearly with customers on service status, findings, and corrective actions
Provide basic user guidance and operational explanations to customers
Support customer acceptance and handover activities
Coordinate with project, design, and software teams to resolve service issues
Provide feedback from site issues to improve future designs and system reliability
Support internal testing or troubleshooting activities when required
Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field)
Basic understanding of software systems (e.g. PLC, HMI, industrial control software, or similar)
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and system schematics
1-3 years of experience in service, commissioning, or technical support (fresh graduates may be considered)
Willingness to travel locally and overseas when required
Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Exposure to automation systems, industrial machines, or production equipment
Basic programming or configuration experience (PLC/HMI/SCADA)
Experience in customer-facing technical roles
Familiarity with ISO or regulated manufacturing environments
