Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with marine equipment-particularly boilers, burners, and their supporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of marine electrical and mechanical equipment onboard vessels and in company premises/workshop, including burners, boilers, scrubbers, EGE, EBG, GCU, and supporting systems
  • Travel on short notice regionally and occasionally globally to perform onsite service and support, maintaining readiness with valid travel documentation, passports, visas, and vaccinations
  • Execute work adhering strictly to company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment guidelines and customer site procedures, and report unsafe practices and incidents promptly
  • Prepare and obtain customer signatures on Service Certificates (time sheets) onsite to document completed work
  • Write detailed Service Reports outlining job performed, identify potential safety issues, recommend spare parts, and suggest future service actions to customers
  • Proactively recommend required or suggested spare parts to customers to optimize equipment performance and reliability
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities to Service Managers to support business growth
  • Provide both onsite and remote technical support to clients, resolving issues efficiently and enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues by sharing knowledge and experience to foster a team-oriented environment
  • Prioritize and execute tasks with a customer-focused approach, ensuring clear communication and high-quality work outcomes

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting experience in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
  • Strong automation background essential for effective service delivery
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications for documentation and communication
  • Fluent written and spoken English to ensure clear communication with clients and team members

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience with boiler and burner systems, scrubbers, and marine industry automation preferred but not mandatory
  • Basic programming skills in Siemens PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) considered an advantage
  • Experience with automation, control and instrumentation devices, pumps, electrical motors, frequency converters, actuators, and positioners preferred
