We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Service Engineer to join our Technical Service team. You will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of medical aesthetic equipment.
This role is suitable for an experienced service engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of medical aesthetic equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults and carry out appropriate repairs and parts replacement.
- Perform equipment testing and calibration to ensure equipment is operating safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
- Attend to customer service requests and equipment breakdowns promptly to minimise equipment downtime.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to Assistant Engineers in their daily service activities.
- Review service work completed by Assistant Engineers and ensure required technical and service standards are met.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and training to develop the technical competency of Assistant Engineers.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the equipment manufacturers where necessary.
- Provide professional technical support and advice to doctors, clinic personnel and other customers.
- Maintain accurate and timely service reports, equipment maintenance records and spare-parts usage.
- Monitor spare-parts requirements and ensure proper accountability for parts and service tools.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure all service activities comply with company SOPs, manufacturer requirements and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Attend technical and product training conducted by equipment manufacturers when required.
Key Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 4-6 years of relevant field service or equipment maintenance experience, preferably within the medical device, medical aesthetic or healthcare equipment industry.
- Prior experience supervising, mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers is preferred.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with medical aesthetic equipment such as laser, IPL, radiofrequency (RF), HIFU, ultrasound, body-contouring or other energy-based devices would be an advantage.
- Able to read technical manuals, electrical schematics and equipment diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.
- Willing to travel to customer sites and attend to urgent service requirements when necessary.
- Valid driving licence would be an advantage.
