Role Overview
This role focuses on the design, development, and validation of optical circuits, modules, and systems. The engineer will work across multidisciplinary domains including optics, electronics, mechanics, firmware, and systems to deliver robust sensor-based solutions. The role also involves supporting product lifecycle activities, troubleshooting, and ensuring product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop optical circuits, modules, and systems
- Perform optical and product testing to ensure quality and reliability
- Support full project lifecycle, including product launch activities
- Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting for product issues
- Support certification, customer-related technical topics, and lifecycle management
- Translate requirements into test plans and validation approaches
- Perform optical simulation and lens drawing using relevant tools
- Conduct statistical analysis and identify key quality parameters (SPC)
- Support benchmarking, data interpretation, and process improvements
- Apply DFMEA and structured failure analysis methodologies
Ideal Requirements
- Degree in Optical Engineering, Engineering Optics, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of R&D or product development experience
- Basic understanding of sensor technology and optical systems
- Knowledge of IEC/ISO standards (e.g., IEC 62471, IEC 60825)
- Familiar with first-order ray tracing principles
- Experience with optical simulation tools (e.g., Zemax)
- Ability to interpret requirements into test and validation plans
- Understanding of optical testing methods and equipment
- Knowledge of DFMEA and structured failure analysis approaches
- Strong analytical and statistical interpretation skills
- Growth mindset with willingness to learn new technical competencies
- Responsible, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks
