Senior Validation Engineer
Job Description
Position Overview
This role will support commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities for ongoing capital projects, alongside routine cleaning validation, periodic maintenance, and equipment/CTC qualification activities. The successful candidate will act as a technical resource to the wider project team, providing validation expertise across systems and equipment throughout their lifecycle. This is a hands-on role suited to a validation professional who is comfortable working across both project-based and routine validation activities in a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support C&Q activities for ongoing capital projects, including protocol development, execution, and documentation review
- Support routine cleaning validation activities, ensuring compliance with site and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical advice and validation support to the wider project team
- Support routine periodic maintenance, equipment qualification, and Clean-in-Place/Temperature Control (CTC) qualification activities
- Review and assess validation documentation to ensure alignment with GMP and internal quality standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support validation deliverables
- Undertake any other validation-related activities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in validation/C&Q within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environment
- Solid understanding of equipment qualification, cleaning validation, and periodic review processes
- Familiarity with validation lifecycle documentation (protocols, test plans, reports)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
- Meticulous, organized, and able to manage multiple validation activities concurrently
